Preaching is like firing a rifle: you have to make sure you're loaded with the power of Word and Spirit. This is accomplished by study, prayer, and waiting on the Lord. Then you have to know your target, what you're hoping to hit. Next, aim carefully, lining up both the near site and far site at the target you've selected. Then, squeeze gently but firmly until you hear "Boom!" Target, aim, squeeze: I invite your comments on each of these as they relate to your own work of sermon preparation and delivery.
