At WorldViewChurch.org this week we have a review of Dr. Peter Leithart's work "Deep Exegesis".
Just today at Dr. Leithart's blog we find this refreshing and helpful observation on the Hebrew word from which we derive
"Levite". I.e. the promise of God in Isaiah 56:3, 6 is that those formerly outcast from God's covenant will be "brought near".
The redeemed Gentiles will not be mere "hangers on" at the periphery of the kingdom, but, like the "Levites" be drawn close into fellowship with the Lord as Paul declares has come true in Ephesians 2:13.
But is there a point where our "exegesis" can become "too deep"? What are your thoughts for the boundaries of exegesis?
